ABOUT WINTAB
WinTab is a tiny tool that emulates the keyboard combination of Win+Tab.
Pressing the Windows (Win) key on a PC keyboard causes the Start Menu and Taskbar to appear. Pressing Win+Tab calls up the Windows Taskbar, without displaying the Start Menu. On Windows Vista, pressing Win+Tab activates Flip 3D.
By using WinTab, you can use a single key to call up the Taskbar or Flip 3D, instead of having to press Win+Tab every time. This is handy and certainly more comfortable for users (like me) who [A] don't keep their Taskbar on top of other windows, [B] use Auto-Hide, [C] use a resized Taskbar (i.e., larger), or [D] any mix of A, B, and C.
HOW TO USE WINTAB
Place the WinTab.exe file into any folder. Next, create a desktop or Start Menu shortcut for it, and assign a hot-key to the shortcut. (You can use Windows built-in shortcut key support, or any macro tool, such as CE Software's QuicKeys.)
Now whenever you want to access the Taskbar (or Flip 3D on Vista), simply press your hot-key, and it will appear, courtesy of WinTab. You can then use your mouse or arrow-keys to navigate the buttons and menus that appear on your Taskbar.
If you haven’t ever worked with the Taskbar resized, hidden, and out of the way, it’s well worth trying. This will give your programs more room for their windows, clean up the clutter of your Windows desktop, and allow more buttons and icons to be visible on the Taskbar.
To resize the Taskbar, simply grab it’s edge and drag it to whatever size you prefer. To adjust it’s behavior, right-click it and select Properties.
