ABOUT SIGSWAP

SigSwap is a small utility that automatically changes your e-mail signature. It's easy to use, and compatible with any e-mail program that stores signatures in a text file (such as Outlook, Thunderbird, Opera, and many others).

Simply create a Signatures.txt file that contains the e-mail signatures you want to use (e.g., quotations), and SigSwap will iterate through the list, swapping the current signature with a new one every few seconds, minutes, or hours, depending on your preference.

SigSwap consumes minimal resources, and imposes virtually no drag on your system.

INSTALLING SIGSWAP

Here's how to install SigSwap and set it up for use.
    1. Download the SS1.EXE file using the hyperlink at the top of this page. Save the download in a folder that you will remember and know how to find.

    2. Open the folder you saved the SS1.EXE file in.

    3. Double-click the SS1.EXE file to extract its contents.

    4. Put the extracted SigSwap files into any folder on your hard drive (e.g., C:\SigSwap or C:\Program Files\SigSwap).

    5. Create a shortcut to the SigSwap.exe file by right-clicking the SigSwap.exe file, and clicking Create Shortcut.

    6. Put the shortcut in your Windows Startup folder. To do so, right-click the shortcut, then click Cut. Find your Windows Startup folder by clicking Start | Programs. When you find Startup, right-click it and select Open. Then right-click inside the opened Startup folder, and click Paste.

    7. Go back to the folder you put SigSwap in (e.g., C:\SigSwap or C:\Program Files\SigSwap).

    8. Open the Signatures.txt file, and populate it with the signatures (e.g., quotations) you want to use.

    9. Open the Boiler.txt file, and enter the standard signature you want to appear in all of your e-mail messages. If you don't want to use boilerplate, just delete the Boiler.txt file, or comment-out or delete it's specification in SigSwap.ini.
    10. Open the Style.txt file, and enter any HTML code you would like to use to establish font or color attributes. This file is processed first by SigSwap. (Note: This feature works only in versions 1.06 and higher.)
    11. Double-click the SigSwap.ini file, and follow the instructions to specify the name and location of your e-mail program's signature file, and other files used by SigSwap.
USING SIGSWAP

SigSwap will automatically load and run when you start Windows. You will see its orange icon in the System Tray. Right-click the icon for options.

UNINSTALLING SIGSWAP

Just delete the folder containing SigSwap, and delete any shortcuts you created for SigSwap (such as in your Startup folder).
