οΌ next to Folders creates a folder; hover a custom folder to delete it.
Search (in the note list, or π in the toolbar) searches the full text of every note in view β titles and body content, not just titles.
Click into an empty search box to see your last 10 searches. Pick one to reuse it, or use "Clear all searches" to wipe the list.
β next to Folders sorts folders alphabetically or in your own custom order. β next to the note list sorts by Date Edited, Date Created, or Title.
Formatting
B / I / U / S apply to selected text.
π opens a highlight color palette β six presets plus a custom color picker.
Aa sets font and size β apply to just the selected text, set as the default for the current note, or use the app-wide default.
β inserts a checklist item; press Enter for the next one. With the cursor in a checklist item, Tab/Shift+Tab (or β₯/β€ in the toolbar) indents/outdents it.
Press Enter at the end of the title to jump straight into the note body.
Links & tags
URLs become clickable automatically when you leave the field or paste them β cmd/ctrl-click to open one.
π links to another note by title; click a note-link to jump straight to it.
Type #word anywhere in a note to tag it. Tags appear in the sidebar β click one to see every note that shares it, across all folders. This is Notorious's version of Smart Folders: instead of naming a folder ahead of time, any word you tag becomes a live, automatically-updating filtered view.
Data & backup
Notes are saved in this browser only (local storage) β they won't follow you to another browser or device.
πΎ (or β/Ctrl S) saves a full JSON backup; β¬ restores from one.
A quick bot check (Cloudflare Turnstile) runs each time the app loads and closes automatically, and anonymized usage events (no note content) are logged β see the license for details.
Options
βοΈ in the titlebar sets the app-wide default font and size for note text. This never changes the app's own menus, buttons, or sidebar β only the notes themselves.
Theme
π¨ in the titlebar switches between System, Light, Lark (warm/sepia), and Dark. Your choice is remembered.

Like Apple Notes, but simpler and portable.
Free for personal, non-commercial use.
All notes and folders are stored locally in your browser only. Nothing is sent to a server, and no account is required. Because storage is local, clearing your browser data will remove your notes β use the save (πΎ) option in the Folders panel to keep a backup.
To keep this small tool free of spam and abuse, the app performs a quick bot check (Cloudflare Turnstile) each time it loads β a small "Quick verification" card that appears and closes on its own β and logs anonymized usage events: a random per-visit id, an event name like "note created," and the last two octets of your IP address. Your note titles, note content, and folder names are never sent or logged.
